CCTV in the City Centre

When incidents are reported to the Police, one of the most significant tasks for us is to collect and review any CCTV footage of what has happened. 

The reasons behind the importance of this are very simple -

That said, the purpose of this message is to ask for any business owners, staff members, or security staff to conduct regular checks on all CCTV cameras and their systems to ensure they are in correct working order.

It is important that at least one staff member working knows how to view and download CCTV from these cameras, or knows who to contact at any hour they are open to do so.

We have seen an increase in businesses not having access to their CCTV systems. This means that when an incident that requires Police support happens, we have a lower chance of identifying those involved quickly, if at all. This is often very disappointing for victims, and business owners themselves. 

No matter your role, you can help make a difference to the security of your workplace by requesting those responsible to check all CCTV is working, and able to be accessed.
